Overview
Education remains one of the most powerful pathways out of poverty, yet many children and young people in Burundi face barriers that prevent them from accessing or continuing their education. Poverty, family instability, lack of school materials, and social vulnerability place many children at risk of dropping out or never enrolling at all.
EXODUS FOUNDATION supports children and youth from vulnerable households by addressing the practical obstacles that limit access to education and by promoting environments where learning, protection, and personal development can take place with dignity.
What We Do
School Access & Retention Support
We support children from low-income households by covering essential education-related needs such as school fees, uniforms, learning materials, and basic supplies. Our aim is to reduce dropout rates and help children remain in school.
Support for Orphans & Vulnerable Children
Children without parental care or living in unstable conditions face higher risks of exploitation and educational exclusion. We provide targeted support to orphans and vulnerable children to ensure they can access education in safe and supportive environments.
Youth Development & Life Skills
For adolescents and young people, we promote initiatives that strengthen life skills, responsibility, and self-confidence. Where possible, we link education support to mentorship and opportunities that prepare youth for future livelihoods.
Education in Crisis Situations
In emergency or crisis contexts, we respond with flexible support to help children continue learning despite displacement, illness in the family, or sudden loss of income.
