Early Years and Community-Led Initiatives
In its early years, these initiatives were implemented through Love and Repentance Revival Ministries (LARRM) and focused on providing practical, life-saving assistance to individuals and families with limited access to essential services. During this period, the team carried out a wide range of interventions, including:
- Supporting patients to settle hospital and medical fees, enabling discharge and continuation of care
- Facilitating access to specialized medical treatment abroad when services were unavailable locally, including referrals to the United States
- Constructing basic housing for homeless families and households living in extreme poverty
- Providing food assistance to patients in hospitals
- Distributing school materials to children from low-income households to support access to education
- Supplying clothing and essential items, particularly for women, older persons, and orphans
- Conducting prison outreach visits and providing material support to incarcerated individuals
- Distributing hygiene supplies, including soap, to vulnerable households and public institutions
Formal Establishment
As the scope and impact of this work expanded, the need emerged for a dedicated, independent nonprofit structure to strengthen governance, ensure transparency and accountability, and enable collaboration with local and international partners.
In response, EXODUS FOUNDATION was formally established as an independent organization and granted official authorization by the Government of Burundi in 2025. This milestone marked an important step in consolidating the Foundation's work and positioning it for sustainable growth.
Today
Today, EXODUS FOUNDATION operates as a legally recognized humanitarian organization, committed to serving individuals and communities solely on the basis of need, while promoting dignity, resilience, and long-term positive change across Burundi.
